The Unconscious 3: Dreams

Freud famously referred to dreams as the “royal road to the unconscious.” He believed that dreams provide valuable insight into the unconscious mind, with the content of dreams reflecting repressed desires and unresolved conflicts.

Dream interpretation can be used as a tool to gain insight into unconscious thoughts, although some people find it hard to remember any content of their dreams. Some psychotherapists ask clients to discuss their dreams as a way to explore hidden emotions and wishes. Dreams can offer clues to unresolved conflicts, fears, or anxieties, which may not be accessible through conscious thought.
